Fox News host Tucker Carlson, went on a furious rant over Meryl Steep’s Golden Globes speech on Sunday calling the actress “rich and entitled” in an angry bash over her comments which attacked Donald Trump.
After accepting the Golden Globe Cecil B. DeMille Award, for contributions made to the world of entertainment, the actress began her tirade trashing the President-elect.
Streep fumed at Mr Trump for imitating a disabled New York Times reporter, however the billionaire has always denied that he mocked the journalist.
She added: “We need the principled press to hold power to account, to call him on the carpet for every outrage,” as she called on the media to keep the new President in check.
Tucker Carlson was pissed and turned on the actress saying that the praise she has received over her comments is completely undeserved.
He said: “Look, she doesn’t like Trump, that’s totally fine, lots of people don’t.
“You’re allowed to feel that way, but what I was so struck by is she was telling a crowd exactly what they wanted to hear.
“She was saying things that are totally uncontroversial within the context she was speaking. That’s the least courageous thing you can do.
“To be in a room full with rich Hollywood liberals and say liberal things… I mean, it would be really interesting, and cool by the way, if were to stand up and say something they disagreed with… It just annoys me.”
Carlson finished with his fury over the actresses comments with one final dig.
He said: “It annoys me that she gets away with pretending to be some sort of outcast or outsider, she’s literally the opposite, she’s Meryl Streep.
“You’re not a victim, and when rich people get to describe themselves as victims as the current President of the United States often does, it devalues the term.”
