Comedian Kathy Griffin continues to be the talk of the town a full week after posting a picture of herself holding up the severed head of President Donald Trump.
The move cost Griffin all of her concert dates, her relationship with MGM, her position with CNN, and has made her the scourge of the internet, uniting both left and right, as calls continue to come in condemning her actions.
Jerry Seinfeld: ‘I don’t understand the big deal’
From Allen B. West
While the overwhelming majority of decent human beings understand why her actions were so horrendous, fellow comedian Jerry Seinfeld is struggling to see what all of the fuss is about.
According to Fox News:
Jerry Seinfeld came to Kathy Griffin’s defense after the comedian posed with a bloodied mask of President Trump.
“Yes, it was another bad joke. Every comedian tells bad jokes,” Seinfeld told People in an interview published Tuesday.
“We all do it. That’s how we find the good jokes,” he added. “So someone told a bad joke — so what, I don’t understand the big deal.”
Griffin first apologized for the photo hours the photo broke May 30, saying she “feel[s] horrible” people took the photo as a threat of violence.
Is Seinfeld being for real here?
or is this another one of his dry attempts at being humorous?
It’s pretty clear what the frickin’ big deal is.
- Griffin made light of the murder of the president,
- scared his young child, and
- glorified beheading a human being
— a rather sensitive subject in post 9/11 America.
She crossed the line in just about every conceivable way, and what’s worse, she’s also attempted to switch up the narrative, painting herself as the victim, rather than taking responsibility for her actions.
Comedians have the right to free speech, but just because you can say something, doesn’t mean you should, nor does it mean that if you do, there won’t be real world consequences for your choices.
We expect this kind of reaction from losers like Alec Baldwin but Seinfeld should know better…
Griffin is learning this lesson the hard way. Perhaps Jerry Seinfeld should be taking notes…
