Iraqi troops gained control of eastern Mosul last month and have been planning an assault to retake to rest of the city from ISIS’ grips.
Government forces have now begun their assault to reclaim the whole city after Iraq’s ministry of defence deployed air jets to drop leaflets across western Mosul to warn residents of the imminent battles.
BBC footage revealed a precise attack on ISIS terrorists after air strikes and helicopters gunships targeted the twisted cult.
In the footage the helicopter can be firing missiles at targets surrounding Abu Sayyaf.
All that was left from the strike was a destroyed motorbike and two bodies, believed to be dead ISIS fighters.
Iraqi forces have now entered Abu Sayyaf, an ISIS stronghold, as the government attempt to retake Mosul Airport, which would be a moral victory, despite being destroyed in the conflict.
